All You Want To Know About Me

Hello fellow Internet surfer and welcome to my home page. I'm very glad that you made it this far . . . and I hope that you'll stick around long enough to get to know just a little bit more about me and my life.

Where I'm From

I was born in a smaller town (almost a city...) in Iowa called Atlantic.  My parents were divorced March 31, 1980 and I lived with my mother and two other brothers.  We lived in trailer house beside my grandparents for a while, then my mother remarried.  We then moved to Diagonal, Iowa.  I started kindergarten in Diagonal.  I attended school in Diagonal until I was 16 years old.  I had what I felt was too many problems and wanted out-the wrong way.  Skipping all the little details, I was put in a Group Home in Lamoni, Iowa to wait for an opening in a foster home.

I was in the group home fror 147 days-the longest stay on record-finally there was a foster home that would take me. I went to live with a couple by the name of Bud and Connie Hook. They became my second foster family. I lived with my fosterparents for the duration of my Junior year of high school and that is where I met my wife.  I was working for Hy-Vee, a grocery store in Osceola, Iowa. More about that later.

At the end of my junior year, I went back to live with my mother so that I could graduate from Diagonal and I joined the United States Marine Corps 2 days before my 18th birthday.  I graduated high school May 19th and found myself on a plane to San Diego, CA for boot camp just 2 days later.

I graduated bootcamp August 10, 1995 and came home for 10 days, before reporting to the School Of Infantry, Camp San Onefre, CA.  I learned basic skills of an Infantryman, and then learned to be a Machine Gunner (Mos 0331).  I graduated SOI on October 20, 1995, just one day after my 19th birthday.  I reported to my current Unit, 1st Battalion 8th Marines on October 23, 1995.
